To recognize bass fishing patterns in the Northeast and to be a complete
fisherman, there are no shortcuts. You can watch videos and TV and read
magazines, but the only way to learn to fish daily patterns and daily
conditions is by spending lots of time on the water. Spending countless
hours in the Northeast waters helped me understand the seasonal patterns and
gain the knowledge needed to compete at a professional level. I suggest you
spend time on the water when it's hot, dead calm, rainy and windy. Get a
feel for why it isn't good, or why fishing is good. You need to have that
experience to be confident in making decisions throughout the day. Having
confidence in what you're doing is the most important part of successful
fishing. If you make a change without confidence or a reason for it, you'll
always doubt it a little.
